multi personalities????? -
May 10th 2011, 01:25 AM
ok so today i discovered that my friend has like 3 different ones and for the most part they come at random times and what not(except one has a trigger but anyway) so apperently theres alot of shit going around that she only wants attention for everything and what not and when my and like 3 others found out they assumed it was that and that she was faking it all. but what made them say that was at lunch (when we found out) before shed be herslef again they would each say bye or something obviously indicating that they were leaving and idk something about that seems off to me. and like ive only been sitting with her for a semester but there are peopel that have known her way longer and ondt even know about it. and idk it seems like it was nahppening alot today. to be honest idk what to think any advice? i really dont want to think shes faking it because i really just dont know but idk is that normal? for them to say bye like that?

Honestly, I don't know much about DID/MPD (Dissociative Identity Disorder/Multiple Personality Disorder), but I've heard it's quite a controversial diagnosis.
Many medical professionals don't seem to believe in this (from what I've read online and heard from others), especially considering that the cases of DID exploded when movies and other media addressing DID came out. Your best bet would be to talk to this friend, and get her to a professional. Somebody who has expertise on this would be able to tell whether she's faking or not, and treat her accordingly. If she's faking, she may start seeing a therapist to figure out why she'd fake it. If she's not faking, they'll treat her properly. So that'd be the best idea, at least in my opinion. |
