i worry all the time and beat myself up for not being perfect.

I dont know what to do but perfection is taking over my life and making me unhappy. My relationships, appearance, weight, etc...i worry tremendously about it all...its not healthy, but i dont know how to stop it. I also seek approval from everyone and i get upset when i dont feel that people really like me as a person. any help/insight with this struggle to be perfect and please everyone?

I used to be the same way, but I've managed to get it under control (most of the time anyway). How long have you felt this way? and can you think of anything that triggered it? Also, how do you define perfection and why? I know these might be tough questions, but it might help you figure out why this is happening and then how to fix it. I eventually realized that I was trying to meet my Dad's expectations of perfection for me, which at the time were unattainable so I was able to determine what was good enough for myself and it didn't matter so much anymore what everyone else thought of me.
