I don't know what to do anymore - July 26th 2011, 06:11 AM

I'm so sick and tired of life, nothing seems to be right for me and i'm just a useless oaf without a proper goal or aim in life.
I fail at studying, now working as a waitress, failing at that too because I can't seem to put on the 'pleasent smiling mask' for the customers, when a customer displeases me I would scowl and even rage.

My relationship problems never end and so does my family problems. I'm so sick and tired of everything sometimes I just wish someone as useless as myself does't exist.
I wish to move out from my family as I already have enough to take in rather than having my mother nagging me like I'm some kind of teenager. But working as a waitress does not pay much and I don't think I can afford to live outside on my own.

But i'm no good at studying and my lack of interest in almost everything has caused me to find a job that doesn't require a degree.

Its funny that your display name has butterfly in it.
"The butterfly wanders aimlessly while making any and everything its perch. The butterfly is a true free spirit"
I'm not sure if that quote helped but I decided to share it. On the studying subject, I can say you probably haven't found your passion yet and that there's always to time to find it.

It's true that your job choices are limited without a degree, but there are PLENTY of jobs aside from being a waitress. Why not apply to other places in your spare time? Just about every job is going to require you to be cordial, but you can probably find a job that doesn't require you to be super-smiley all the time. =) For example, I worked at a pet boarding facility. There was some interaction with human customers, and a fair amount of interaction with co-workers... but for the most part, I could concentrate on being with the dogs. Perhaps that's something you could look in to. There are also jobs you can do that don't involve dealing with customers (ex. stocking products in stores, sorting through paperwork in an office setting).

I agree with Monnocle: if you don't have a passion, then studying ANYTHING is going to be difficult. You're still relatively young, so don't worry about college right now. Focus on saving up money for other, more meaningful goals (like moving out). With time, you will discover something that is of interest to you. Save up money, go to community college, and find a job that's more satisfying/pays better. Not everyone goes straight to a four-year university after graduating from high school, and that's okay!
