schizophrania? -
December 1st 2011, 03:40 AM
Ok, so when I walk around in my house or lay down in my bed to sleep, I always kinda see like dark figures lurking in the shadows, and I alwaysassumed it was my active imagination. But recently I had a hallucination where I thought my arm was all cut up and bloody, and sometimes I'm really paranoid, and I also read that ppl with schizophrania show some of the symptoms. Of depression, which I thought I had. So. Anyone have opinions or tips? Thank you.

Well, there are many other mental health conditions with Hallucinations as a symptom, besides Schizophrenia.
Question: The arm hallucination, what time of day was it? Had you drank a lot of caffeine? The shadows can easily be an overactive imagination at night time. |

Hi there.
There are different factors which can trigger hallucinations such as being drunk or high, Epilepsy, A fever, Narcolepsy, Mental health illnesses, Sensory issues, and physical issues such as brain damage and liver failure. We can not tell you why you've experienced hallucinations or diagnose you with anything, including mental health illnesses. Yes, there could always be a chance you are having them due to your mental health but like I said, there are others causes too. Do you have a previous history of depression? Although they are psychosis symptoms they can also be part of depression and are known to gradually go away with depression. Its good you're aware that what is happening is happening and that you know it's not normal. If you carry on having these I suggest you seek medical help.
