Question Never satisfied with how things are? - January 29th 2012, 09:29 PM

Im trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I seem to NEVER be able to be satisfied with how things are. I always am obsessing over something that I feel that I need, yet once I get it, it seems like I just get in a bad mood and then quickly move to something else I think I need. For example;from these moods I have gotten two tattoos, a piercing, and one time I dyed my hair many different vibrant colors. I am rather impulsive, when I get the thoughts in my head if I am able to, I do it right away. And when I can't do it, I have episodes where im extremely depressed and angry..Any idea what this could be? My mother wants my psychiatrist to evaluate me fully.

Impulsivity can be a symptom of several mood and personality disorders. It might not be a bad idea to share this information with your psychiatrist in order to be properly assessed and diagnosed.

I agree with Psy. I would go see that psychiatrist so that everything can hopefully be figured out and determined by a professional - and hopefully they can slowly decrease or eliminate the problem.
