Nightmares and Depression? - February 10th 2012, 04:46 AM

I've recently fallen back into a rough depression after being 10 months clean from cutting... But I've been having intense nightmares for the past few months that I've woken up completely sobbing or been too afraid to go back to asleep from... They're not the same nightmares repeated over and over again but they're really intense nightmares nonetheless which usually include someone dying or us being in a life threatening situation... I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with depression? Or if it's probably unrelated...

Sometimes we hurt, sometimes we cry, and sometimes we fall, but what I also know is that sometimes were happy, sometimes we laugh, and we can always get back up when we fall. I know that help is real and hope is real. I know that in falling we learn to fly. And I know that it takes more courage to live than it does to die, so be strong because you can do it.

Lots of people with depression have nightmares, it's just part of the mindset.
I had those for years and years before I was properly put on medication.
