HELP! It can't happen again! - January 1st 2013, 12:39 AM

My friend is threatening to tell my coach that i don't eat anything when we have 12 hour practices and I've already got kicked off the team once for not eating, that it can't happen again!

Should I just tell my coach I know my own limits and I'm fine? Or What?

ok first of all your friend is really concerned about you and frankly she has a right to be. They kicked you off the team because you're a liability for the school, my school did that kind of thing to me too. You get hurt or pass out during practice they might have to deal with the bill. Your best bet is to just eat something healthy like nuts right before practice. I'm sorry you're hurting hun take care.

Let me tell you a story.

I was a cheerleader back in high school. We did stunts where we threw girls up in the air and caught them. I was a base. What that meant was, I was the girl throwing and catching. Peoples lives were literally in my hands. One wrong fall and someone could get a bad injury (paralyzation). I was restricting and purging at that time in my life. And of course, I felt dizzy and weak all of the time. I finally realized that this isn't safe for me or the rest of my squad. I wrote my coach a letter and told her everything, fully knowing she might kick me off the squad. She didn't. She helped me work through it. The moral of the story is, you need to do what's best for the team your on, because that's what being a team is all about. You also need to make sure you're being the best YOU you can be. I think you need to be the one to tell your coach. It's going to sound a lot better coming from you than your friend. Your coach is going to be more willing to work with you if you show an initiative to get better. You can fight this <3
