Eating disorder=insomnia?

Quick question.. can having an eating disorder cause insomnia? I literally just pulled an allnighter without even wanting to. I couldn't fall asleep. And I had to work at 6:30am. It was the worst night of my life, I felt like crying. I was sooo depressed. I'm completely deead! Do dysfunctional eating habits cause this? This is the first time it has happened but I'm wondering if it has something to do with the food in my stomach or just something I was unconsciously stressing about?

Hi. My name's Cassie, too!

I've usually just heard of eating disorders causing hypersomnia. I did some research and they also can cause insomnia. If you're using diet pills or any over the counter methods to lose weight, they'll keep you up. What is it that you are eating? It depends on what's in that.

Worrying also is a factor. I keep myself up at night second guessing my actions.

I hope you get some sleep!

I think it's a possibility. I mean, being stressed and anxious over something, such as your eating habits, can cause your thoughts to race. Ultimately resulting in not being able to sleep. Also, it is said that if you're on a low carb diet, this can happen. And by me doing a quick google search, it shows that a lot of people are experiencing the same thing but I couldn't get a reason as to why. I suggest, for starts, eating a healthy balanced diet. You're going to feel more balanced physically, and your brain will function more properly. I also suggest doing some 'wind down' exercises to relax the brain before sleeping. This could help. :)
