ugh - February 6th 2013, 01:51 PM

I didn't think I would be back at this point with my eating. I have been losing weight lately,and now I'm starting to restrict and then binge, looking at pro Ana sites for tips and feeling my bones. I feel so good when I can feel them, its like I am on the right path to weight loss. I'm so scared to gain all the weight back. I feel horrible and ashamed when I eat. I don't want to end up back at that point. So I was wondering how to start to talk about this to my therapist or anyone about it. I just don't want to go down that road, and I feel that I'm slipping. Any help is appreciated.

Well, talking around relapse and having your therapist have to try and guess won't help.

If you're serious about letting your therapist know and genuinely don't want this to blow up again, you could try a short couple of sentences such as, "I'm relapsing with some eating habits I know are unhealthy, and I'm concerned for my well-being. Could you please help?"

I don't know how easy/hard talking to your therapist is for you, but there's always the old standbys of having it written down in advance, or writing it for your therapist within your session.

For the most part I think it's really good that you actually want to let your therapist know. And as far as the pro-Ana sites go, you can install an add-on with most browsers that lets you block certain searches/websites. Usually they're used to stop people accidentally or intentionally viewing pornography, but you could use one to block pro-Ana sites from yourself, that way searching them and using them will be more of a hassle so you're less likely to do it.

hey guys...update!! I talked to my therepist for a while today about whats going on with my eating, i am keeping a food log for a week to see how much im restricting. I feel like ive been binging and he says im not sooo. we will see. Its been hard writing down everything, it makes me feel worse right now, but i know its better in the long run. Thanks for reading. ill keep updates here
