haven't eaten in almost 5 hours - May 18th 2016, 08:06 PM

I saw my therapist this morning and I got a bracelet that says recovery because I haven't cut or purged in a month. I feel really happy about that. That isn't my problem.

My problem is that I cannot bring myself to each lunch. I am starving but I don't know what to have and I really don't want to eat. I haven't eaten since 8am and it is 12:40pm. I should of had a snack and all my snack was was gum. I just don't know what to do. I want like soup and grilled cheese and ham but I just don't wanna eat. I guess this doesn't make sense at all.

Hey, Frankie! The desire to not want to eat, despite being hungry makes complete sense to me. I have days when I experience the appetite but lack of desire to put anything in my mouth. I would just wait it out, but definitely have something before bed. Do you think it's because you're associating recovery with restricting? It's really not a good idea to go from one form of disordered eating to another.

If it persists, I would suggest talking to your therapist about this. Maybe you two can come up with a solution as to how you can continue to eat healthy and in moderation, without worrying about relapse.

It makes sense to me. I know how you feel but im just glad that you have the heart to be healthy and a part of you still thinks you should eat something. Its way better than what i do to myself. But congradulations on going a month without purging or cutting. Im very proud of you!

Anyway, im sure that that time you wrote your thread, is long gone. So i cant really give you advice for what to eat right now but next time youre in a situation like this, you could try to find a healthy snack to get you by even if its not a lot. Just listen to when your body is hungry and how much of what you eat.

I feel like im being hypocritical right now telling you to eat something when you dont feel like it. But i just dont want you to be like i am. You deserve to be taken care of and please dont go down the road im on. I only eat oncenevery day or two which isnt healthy. Please dont go down this road because its so hard to get out. Good luck and i hope things get better for you.
