OMG! Spread the good news! - April 6th 2017, 09:33 PM

I've worked so hard to get to this point and it's finally happening. I look in the mirror and I don't absolutely hate what I see. For some reason my eating disorder doesn't even seem like a problem anymore. I eat meals with my family every night and I don't have the compulsion to workout late to burn off all the calories. I actually ate breakfast this morning for the first time in so long and I didn't purge; I didn't feel the need to.

I don't know why this is happening but it's amazing. I'm not even going to a counselor currently. I mean, of course I'm not fully revcovered but definitely getting better. I still keep making plans for a long fast this summer which needs to stop. And a part of me still wants to keep trying to lose weight in a really bad way.

During school, I can actually focus a lot more and the thought of calorie numbers don't cloud my mind like it used to. I'm a lot more productive.

But the main good part in all of this is that my body isn't what is making me depressed anymore. I've still been a bit depressed but thats because of feeling the exclusion of friends. But the mirror no longer seems like a battle that I'm fighting; it's a battle that I won. I kept trying for so long to convince myself that I look as people say I do. I finally believe it. Over the hate and cruel voices I heard from my past, I repeated the phrase from one voice "...but you are so tiny!" It was strong enough to win over the negative side of the argument inside my head. It seemed impossible but I guess nothing is really impossible.

Nicely done! It's always motivating to see your life improving, especially when you remember the way you had to go.

All the best to you.

The risk I took was calculated, but boy, am I bad at math.

Glad to hear your progress! Just know that if there ever comes a point where you don't feel so positive about yourself again, that it's okay because recovery isn't linear; there will always be ups and downs. Good luck and I hope you continue to feel positive about yourself!
