I don't know what to do - November 2nd 2017, 12:32 PM

So I have a friend, and basically she doesn't treat me like she treats her other friends. She will come to me and tell me things about them, and how they do wrong to her, but she will still be their friends.
She will say they have done something bad, but the next day she will be like best friends with them and just ignore me. I'm not so bothered, but I suppose deep down it does hurt.

Today she just smiled at me at break, nothing else. She didn't ask me if I wanted to sit with her in the common room or anything.
That felt bad I guess, so I went to the common room and bought 12 biscuits (as many as I could afford). I haven't eaten them yet, but I already have a stash of food hidden at home (with long best before dates) and when I get to my target weight I plan to binge.
But I am frightened that I will end up binging before that, and do something that I don't want to...

I just feel terrible. Also, school is stressing me out...

Any advice is appreciated

It sounds like your friend likes talking to you about her problems regarding other friends and how they treat her, but that she continues to be friends with them, despite everything that she has told you. Not only that but she doesn't seem to be treating you like a friend when she ignores you or doesn't involve you in things.

This can definitely get you down and I understand that this can bring on the urge to binge. But you don't have to act on those thoughts and feelings. Maybe you can use that energy to confront your friend instead? You could suggest that though you are always there to listen to her, that you sometimes feel ignored. But remember, even if your friend didn't ask you if you wanted to sit with her in the common room, it doesn't necessarily mean that she is ignoring you. There's nothing wrong with tagging along, even if you haven't been asked (sometimes people just assume that you'll join them and might not necessarily ask, or they may just forget to ask).
