How do I get out of it? - November 9th 2017, 12:54 PM

So I ate a pizza slice and muffin. It was good and stopped me from binging, but afterwards I felt incredibly guilty for eating them. I tried to purge, but couldn't.

I don't know what to do. My eating problems are getting so much worse than ever, and I can't control them anymore. I can't control my hunger, and eating anymore. I eat a lot, and feel guilty and then restrict heavily the next day. Yesterday I ate very little calories because of a binge I had on Tuesday.

I am underweight, and I don't see myself as fat. I never did. I guess this started as some sort of attempt to take control of my life, but it has massively backfired. I want and need to get out of this. I feel awful, and I want to go back to normal.

Any advice is appreciated

I'm so sorry that you are having a hard time with this right now. You need to take some deep breaths to help calm you down. When you get upset like this try to calm yourself down and focus on other things that are around you, for example look at you're TV, color of you're room, bed, outfit, a pair of shoes and focus on them until you are calm and ok and feeling a little bit better.

I am sorry that you are having a hard time with food, when you eat pizza and other things like this you should be happy because they are fun foods to eat and they shouldn't make you feel guilty or upset about this and I'm sorry that they are when you eat them. Try saying to yourself that I'm ok and I am going to eat fun food and do my best with this, I know that it's hard at first, try to do this a little bit and see how it goes. Also can you try talking to you're school counselor and letting them know that you're having a hard time with us.
You said that you tried to purge, and you couldn't. When you start doing this, it's really hard to stop this by yourself. Can you try to also talk to a really good friend or teacher to help you with this. I wish you the best and hope you will be ok soon. Lots of hugs.
