help. Need advice how to stop binging. - January 11th 2018, 04:20 AM

Anybody have tips how to stop binging? I literally cant seem to control myself. I go out and binge on food then purge it all. So much money just down the toilet. Im already seeing a therapist but its not helping. Im desperate. Anyone. Anything?

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. I know how much bulimia sucks. One thing that might help is never carying money with you, so you can't go to fast food or anything and buy food. Or you can only bring a certain amount with you everywhere you go, that way you can't buy a whole bunch of things.

You can also do the 15 minute game. People usually use it with cutting but it can apply to this as well. Tell yourself that in fifteen minutes you can do it. Then say another fifteen minutes and so on and so on. If you end up doing it that is okay but you will of at least stopped yourself from doing it for awhile.

When I felt like purging I would always text my friend and talk with her, or I would get away from the house. So maybe if you find yourself wanting to B/p maybe you can go for a walk, call a friend and go to the mall or go out to eat if they know about the eating disorder maybe you can let them know you are struggling and to make sure that you only order a regular meal.

There isn't anything else I can think of. I hoped this helped a little bit.
If you ever need to talk about this or anything else please feel free to PM/VM me.

Your Friend,

Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are
