How do I keep being healthy? - March 12th 2018, 02:58 AM

I donít even know if this is the right forum to put this in, but it was the one that fit best. Also didnt even know if I should put a trigger warning on this, but might as well be safe rather than sorry. So for most of last year I calorie counted practically every day, leaving out holidays and birthdays. But, I was very strict with how much I ate of everything, and because of that I lost a significant amount of weight, which truly made me happy. I was finally getting to a place where I was happy with myself, but I always just needed a little more to be fully happy, but you all know itís never just a little.

Around the holidays I found it very hard to count, so I didnít, and I didnít find myself gaining much at all. It has been about 3 months and I still havenít counted, but I really want to again. I am going on a trip to Spain in a couple weeks and Iím just nervous Iím going to let myself go on the trip and even regret going. One of the last days we are going to the beach and I will not allow myself to be fat and in a swimming suit in front of my classmates. I really just want to be super strict on my diet for these next couple weeks just so I feel good over the trip, but even I know how bad that is. How do I let myself enjoy the trip, but not hurt my body before hand?

Hello there, I'm sorry that you've struggled with this, but I'm glad you realize it's a slippery slope before getting sucked back into it. I don't know if this will help or not, but my suggestion is to focus on the experience of going to Spain and enjoying the trip rather than focusing on how much you weigh or what you look like. If you do, you'll likely end up looking back and feel like you missed out because you were worried about calories. It's easy to say that people won't care what you look like in a bathing suit, chances are, they'll be worried about the same thing or focused on something else anyway. Even if they do say something to you about it, it's really none of their business and you should try not to let it ruin your trip.
