I apologize in advance if this thread triggers anyone.

I'm 14 years old, am around 5'4. How many calories should I try to consume every day to maintain a healthy body weight?

The only reason I'm making this thread is because I feel I've been overeating lately, and I'd like to see if I am. Thanks for any help you can give me!

No one here can tell you what a healthy range for you is because we aren't doctors and we don't know your entire situation. If you would like advice on what you are eating, it would be best to talk to your doctor as he or she will know your full situation and has gone to school to learn about this type of stuff.

Also, I'm not really sure we're allowed to post calorie numbers anyway, but don't quote me on that.

Hey Shiane,

The only person who can tell you how many calories you need to eat is your doctor. However, you are 14, so I wouldn't worry about counting calories right now. You are still growing, and it's best to just try and eat healthy instead of worrying over calorie counts.

If you think you are overeating, you could always cut back on junk food, or drink water instead of fizzy drinks(like soda). If you are worried, talk to your doctor. Cody is right, we are not allowed to post calorie or weight figures anywhere on TeenHelp.
