Hey Haley! Im sorry to hear about that, its not nice But it's good you want to do something about it. I admire you If you are really close to your dad's girlfriend, you could just explain to her exactly what you've explained on here! You could always tell your dad, as he is your dad, but if you would be more comfortable talking to someone who already has an eating disorder, then go ahead and tell her. She may be able to talk to your dad for you, or help you tell your dad, when you are all sitting down together. Make it clear to them you dont want any family friends to know, that is totaly fair and they should understand.
I don't think you will freak out while telling them if there is no tension between you when you are telling him, and all is calm, everything will be okay
Sorry if I have not really answered your question, its hard to know how to ask for help, but you will feel good afterwards!

It can be really hard to admit to a problem like this. But the fact that you want help is the first step in recovering. And there are many ways that you can go about asking for help. You could go to your dad's girlfriend and just tell her, if you feel brave enough to do that. If not, you could print out your post here and leave it somewhere for your dad or his girlfriend to find. And not that I would recommend it, but if nothing else works, you could just stop trying to hide your eating disorder, so your dad/his girlfriend realise themselves?

I've never had counselling, so I'm not sure what you would expect either. But you could always use HelpLink to ask someone what you might expect if you're worried about that.
