Question Vitamin supplements? - May 5th 2010, 09:56 AM

Ok, well long story short, I may be developing an ED and my CPN has got me a prescription for vitamin tablets to keep me going (apparently). I was wondering, has anyone else had this? do they help? I'm not sure if I want to take them

If your CPN gave them to you to help you out then you should take them. They want to help you and they wouldnt give you vitamins to take if it wasnt good for you!

Well when you're not eating properly, you're not getting the vitamins your body needs. So I'm sure your CPN is just trying to help your body at least stay somewhat together as you work to get your ED taken care of. So I suggest you take them. What bad could a vitamin do, right?

Hey there,

The thing with ED's is that they prevent our bodies from getting the proper nutrients they need which leads to us getting really sick. Now, the vitamins can help keep your body going while you are dealing with this. The vitamins will not keep you going forever but they will help. So, please take them.

If you need anything please feel free to pm me.

I agree with the above posters. Your body could probably use these vitamins that your doctor prescribed. Please take them.

While they will definitely help to keep your body going as you recover from your ED, I'd just like to remind you that vitamins aren't a permanent substitute for the nutrients food gives you. The only reason I mention this is because I once thought this myself. I thought that as long as I took my vitamins, heck, I'd be okay! But it was far from the truth. My eating disorder made me very sick.

Please take your vitamins; just keep that in mind. Your body does need food to stay healthy in the long-run!

I would have to agree with the posters above too. Take them. You were given them for a reason.

I'm suppose to take vitamins to help too. And when I do take them, they help. They'll make you feel better for one, after a while, because you won't be as malnorished. They do not, however, replace eating. You still need to eat to be able to live, but the vitamins will help make up for part of it, until your eating is better, at least for a while. So yes, take them. They'll help.

I get vitamen supplements! I also get calcium tablets which are MASSIVE and I have too much problem swallowing them so I usually just dispose of them.
