I Just Want To Eat/Thyroid - May 30th 2010, 08:51 PM

I just don't know what to do. It's so hard. My thyroid medicine makes me feel soo much better and It's very worth it. My life is almost complete since taking it. But It makes me want to eat! I want cake and pizza, chinese food... I've gained a few pounds since being regulated but I just need help and I don't know what to do. I'm not going to lie, I don't want to workout. I don't have the time to drive to the gym after 6 days a week of being busy.

My boyfriend got on the scale, and I did too... And he weighs less than me. That right there makes me feel bad about myself. I don't want to gain anymore and I want to lose a little. I've noticed I feel bloated all the time and one pair of pant in particular don't fit around my waist comfortably anymore...

Hey there,

Have you tried talking to your doctor about this? They might be able to give you suggestions on what you can do to prevent gaining weight. One suggestion I would make is that you eat small snacks during the day. Bring some almonds, apple slices, orange slices, walnuts, etc with you to school or whatever and when you get hungry munch on that. That way you will be feeding yourself and it might help with the hunger.

Don't be afraid to eat just try to balance a little more. Your craving Chinese food that is okay. Set aside a 2 meals out of the week where you can have Chinese food or whatever else. Or maybe you could look up some Chinese recipes online. That way you can make the food at home and it might be a little bit healthier.

Everything you get out at restaurants can be made at home in a way. I love love love Shrimp Scampi so I found a way to make it at home. Making it at home was a great idea because it is cheaper and a little bit healthier, I can make smaller portions etc.

Lastly, don't let your weight define you. You are beautiful no matter what. If you are eating healthy then that is all that matters. The scale does not have to define who you are.

That makes me feel better Jenna... I haven't been eating and It's making me feel bad. I'm just so dang hungry. I'm going to start bringing a healthier lunch to school.
