Welcome to TH.

I have found the best thing you can do is, well remind yourself it is bad, but more then that I run. It makes me forget that I want to do that

Sarah,
Have you tried talking to a counselor or therapist to see what is at the root of your purging disorder?
Also, good for you on wanting to stop! Good luck

You're not alone in this Sarah. I used to have a problem with purging, but I learned to keep myself busy after meals, by doing homework, running, hanging out with friends. If I'm distracted, I didn't think about it. After several weeks of not purging, it went away on it's own. Granted, it's not easy. But you can get through this. Just take it a day at a time.

She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."

"If ye harm none, do as ye wish."

Sometimes things just happen.

Sarah I want to begin by welcoming you to TeenHelp and letting you know that you have come to the right place to express your concerns. This community is full of extremely sweet people who know what you are going through. Like the others have stated you are not alone! I still relapse every once in a while, but I have gotten progressively better. Gaining weight still upsets me and I try not to weigh myself obsessively because I found this actually made me feel the urges more. Try to start slowly eating and eating healthy foods. That might help you. You should look into seeing a therapist about your concerns. They can really be helpful and will give you any medical assistance you might require. I really hope that you can be strong and fight this. I know it isn't easy and I am here if you ever need someone to confide in.

Best,
Lexy
