Unhappy Do I have a problem? - August 16th 2010, 08:58 PM

I think that I may be sick, but I don't know.
I am sixteen and I have always had issues with my body.
I have recently taking them to the next level.
I don't eat.
When I do I don't eat much.
I walk at least 6 miles a day.
Sometimes I eat, then I feel so guilty that I throw up.
I just.. I can't take this anymore.
I don't know what to do.

Hey Elaina,

Welcome to TeenHelp! I'm so glad you're here, and that you reached right out to us That takes a lot of courage.

Does anyone know about what you're struggling with? If not, it's definitely time to tell someone. And if someone DOES know, it's time to let them know that this is a big issue. Eating disorders are not something to take lightly, as I'm sure you know, and you absolutely need and deserve help. Think of an adult in your life who you can trust--ideally a parent, but if not, another family member or someone else, and let them know what's happening. Write them a letter about it if telling them in person seems too hard. Let them in, so that they can help you. I know it seems scary but things CAN get better, I promise you that.

Take good care of yourself, Elaina, you deserve it!

my fellow woman,
it is tough being a woman huh? We have to worry about weight and eating. It is great that you are exercising during the day! With all that walking I hope to see you in a marathon to help others soon! If you are burning off calories during the day through exercising, you should be taking in GOOD calories to help or your body will start eating your muscle instead! There are many healthy food choices that you can eat and not feel like throwing up or "guilty" after. Find what works for you. For me it was chicken and spinach. Life is so beautiful and precious and we only get one chance. Enjoy it.

Only a proffessional can clarify whether you have a problem, and it maybe worth seeing a doctor about this.

I myself has been through the same situation, and I am still finding it hard. I havnt yet been to the docs' but have been advised to. So maybe it is worth going.
Alternitavely, why not try talking to a family member or a friend?
Maybe they could help you with this, and they can support you. There is help out there if you need it, and it sounds like something that you may be looking for.

Take care,
