so i'm really working hard on recovery. i've been attempting to follow my nutritionist's plan, but it's just been really hard this week. every time i look in the mirror it's complete and utter disgust. all I see is fat. fat everywhere! it's weird b/c my jeans are looser, but I feel like I've gained so much! i just don't know how to keep up with eating when all i see is gain gain gain. i don't feel comfortable in anything I wear. I'd rather just sit in my room and sleep.

Also, a guy that I really liked asked me out to lunch, but I had to turn him down. I'm still just eating in my room, and I don't know if I could eat in front of a guy that I really like.

I guess I just need help and advice on how to stay on track and not go crazy lol

Hey there Laura, it's normal to feel the way that you do. I think it is really great that you are working so hard to follow a nutritionists plans for you. Those plans are specifically designed for you an your recovery. So it' crucial that you follow the orders of your doctors. They are there to help.

There are going to be times where you are feeling bad about yourself during recovery. Your recovery will be that much better if you fall just a little bit and are able to get yourself right back up. You even following a plan like that is so much strength in and of itself, so by you falling just a bit and bringing yourself back up, is showing that much more strength. That's the part you have you have to focus on. What you can do where you find yourself in ruts like these is, create your own happiness. Do stuff that you love doing, be around people you love, watch tv shows you love, read your favorite book, listen to your favorite song.

As far as dating goes. Maybe next time when you get asked on a date to lunch, maybe suggest that you go to mini golf, bowling, watching a movie, theaters, star gazing, parks, the mall, etc. All of these places are nice and low key, and no pressure for food. They aren't food based date ideas. Your date might ask if you want something to eat or drink (depending on the place you go) but you can just say "No, I am alright, I had food before I left". He won't suspect or think anything of it. This is because you are going to a place where food is not the primary thing going on.
