binging -
January 22nd 2011, 08:58 PM
i can't stop binging. its getting ridiculous. i should know nobody sticks to their new years resolution. ive put on too many pounds extra. no im not lying or exagerrating or whatever. Anyways i gotta stick to a diet. No more cereal for me. It's one of my trigger foods believe it or not. as well as chocolate, oreos, and granola bars. My new plan apple throughout morning, and one small dinner. Ive done it before,, before i lost control. I dont know when it happened... but im determined to get back on track. Still use laxatives and purge at times. but im okay with that. If i stop binging then i stop the purge.

I am guessing your new years resolution was to go on a diet? You know now that diets DO NOT work, you said yourself you have been binging. If you end up restricting yourself too much, you will end up binging. You need to find a balance. Food that is healthy, and fills you up and gives you energy until the next meal. Now let me tell you, an apple is NOTHING. You can't get through the day on an apple.
For breakfast, if you don't want to eat cereal, why not toast? Even just one slice with marmite on it would be good enough. Or how about a fruit salad, with 3 or 4 fruits and yoghurt! (I LOVE THIS!!) For lunch, dont have a granola bar, or chocolate or oreos. But you need something. Wholegrain bread is best and you can put salad in it too. For tea, make sure you have some veges, carbs (potato, rice, pasta), protein (meat or vegetarian substitute) Now this is certainly still not enough to maintain weight, if you have been advised by a doctor to lose weight, then he/she can tell you how. But you still need 3 meals a day and snacks in between if you are energetic. Snacks could be fruit, nuts, bread, muesli bars, crisps, baking, ice cream, crackers! I know you may be 'scared' of eating, but you just need to eat, you will be surprised how much you can eat without gaining weight. If you only eat an apple though, your metabolism will be so slow that when you have dinner, your body will just think 'FOOD' and store it, rather than burn it off. I am a Proud Kiwi =)
