Hey there,

I'm sorry that you are having to go through this. As someone that formerly had an ED, it's not worth the effort you have to make every day to stay thin. I realized that very quickly. Your problem seemingly started when you got the stomach flu. You don't think you look like you lost weight because your are in the state of mind where you think you need to lose more. your mind is only going to see what you want to let it see. You are focused on losing more weight, so that's you telling your body "You're not good enough, not thin enough, lose more." Your brain is going to respond in such a way that is decieving your eyes. It truly has nothing to do with your body, as much as it is a physcological issue.

I advise that you talk to your parent about this. They can really help in a sense that they can be supportive. If you talk to them, they can help you find professional help. That's if you want it, that is. Your ED doesn't seem to far out of control that it would be hard to fix. I think the real issue is depression. If you can find something that makes you happy, and worth being healthy for, then that could really help. I found that doing things that made me happy really helped pull me out of that state of mind.

You should explain to your boyfriend how you are feeling. Granted, it's likely that he won't understand completely, until he has walked a mile in your shoes. Tell him that you are in need of support, and you could really use his. If he really loves, and cares about you, he is going to want to be there for you, and is going to want to make that effort. Also, do you have any friends you can talk to? I don't advise bottling your feelings inside, because that is going to make the situation a lot worse. I want to see you get better, before it's too late.

Eating disorders are very dangerous. Not only will they affect your weight in a negative way, but the rest of your body as well. It can affect all areas of your body. The less serious places it will affect are mostly outer body. Your hair will become thin, potentially loss of hair. Your finger nails will be brittle. You'll be tired all the time. Those are just some of the less serious affects of an ED. More serious affects include malnutrition, heart problems, etc.

I hope this helped you a bit. I can relate to where you are coming from. If you ever need anything, shoot me a PM.
