Starving Yourself - August 1st 2011, 04:38 PM

A lot of people I know think I starve myself. People at school sometimes joke around and call me anorexic and stuff. I don't have a problem with my weight but they're starting to make it a problem. Earlier I tried on a shirt and it was too big and my mom said "Maybe if you'd actually eat it would fit". She's been saying a lot of things like that lately. What am I supposed to do when they say these things?

Well you may just be the kind of person who doesn't eat a lot, and that's ok as long as it doesn't affect your health, but you could try to explain to others and your mum that it really isn't a problem, as long as it actually isn't that is. Maybe you could satisfy your mum by letting her schedule a doctor's visit, because if there is something wrong with the amount you are or are not eating the doctor can tell you and if it's perfectly fine then he can re assure your mum of that.

Well you've got a few options. Are you happy with your body? If so, then don't change your eating habits. Simply talk to your mother and friend and just tell them that you eat as much as you need and that you aren't anorexic. If they continue to say that, just ignore them. Trust me, if they don't get a reaction out of you then they'll stop.

If you do think you are too skinny and/or underweight then try eating just a little bit more than you usually do per day. Its a gradual process, you don't want to overwhelm your body.

The most important thing is that you are happy with yourself. Don't let other change the way you see yourself.

Don't listen to the, be happy with who you are! If you feel like you are underweight, go to a doctor who can give you a plan to help you gain weight healthily. Other then that, who cares what they say! Don't let them bother you.

According to adult bmi calculators I'm underweight. And according to the ones for kids I'm close to being underweight so I'm not sure. I'm not entirely happy with my body. Most girls aren't into the super skinny guys. It's really hard for me to gain fat or muscle though because I run a lot.

To be honest, you're a guy, you exercise a lot and you probably have a fast metabolism. Some guys go through a period of time where they can't put on weight because no matter how much they eat, it all gets burned up due to growth and activity.
Don't worry, you should grow out of it
