What is EDNOS? -

I was diagnosed with it about three months ago. I know I have it but don't understand it. My doctor didn't explain it and I tried searching it on Google but got sketchy and confusing results. I don't know if it has to do with any specific eating patterns because I don't have any major eating problems right now... Help?

It means that you have problems with eating that don't fit the diagnostic criteria for a specific eating disorder.

My friend has it... well she self diagnosed. Like Maeve said, it's an eating disorder not otherwise specified. It's not anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating, but sometimes a combination of the qualities of the each. In my friends case she alternates between starving and binge/purging. Hope that helps.

yeah; pretty much what samantha said. you can have a bunch of different problems but you can't really be categorized into one of the main ones.

It just means you don't fit the fairy strict diagnostic criteria for a disorder such as anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating. It means that you have an eating disorder that doesn't fit those diagnostics.
In the end, eating disorders are very connected, and people switch disorder quite frequently. So really, it just means you have an eating disorder. It may just not be as extreme as others. If you ever need to talk to somebody about it, I'm always here!
