i too have been threw the same thing as u. I also have thrown up and shockingly enyjoyed it more than i thought. It's like you start off just to try it and then u really turn out to like. But you have to understand that you can't get into the hang of it u need to get out of the habit before it gets out of hand. From personal experience i have to tell u that sooner or later if you keep it up other people will find out and when they do some might not know how to react and some might over react. You will get concequences from that and from the results of what throwing up does to your body. I used to be an athlete now i can hardly run. I'm trying to get back on track but it's extremly hard. Don't put yourself in a position you don't need to be in. i know it's hard but you can do it

Hey there,

First of all, welcome to TeenHelp. I hope you get some help here for how you are feeling. It is very common for disordered eating to come with other things as well, such as SH and anxiety. Honestly, in my own experience, intentional throwing up, or purging, was something like a SH habit for me. I used it to harm myself, and while I was purging, I wasn't cutting. But everything ended up just getting worse, I developed many cavities, and I didn't lose weight, but just grew more and more hating of my body.

Do you have an adult you can trust to tell about these new habits of yours, who can possibly get you to a professional? As scary as help seems, it can really help. I would recommend talking to an adult you trust, such as a parent, teacher, school counselor, or somebody who you feel comfortable with. They can be able to get you professional help, such as a psychologist. Obviously, at this stage, I'm not sure you have any type of eating disorder, but a mixture of different mental health issues overall just making you miserable. They can help you learn new coping mechanisms for these habits and be able to get you through them the healthy way.

I'm going to leave you the Alternatives to Self Harm page from TeenHelp for your self harming habits. Many of these are also great for anxious moments where you feel out of control, and also to stop urges to throw up. However, some of these on here include baking and such, things that are not as comfortable with people with disordered eating. I have another page of Coping Mechanisms for Eating Disorders that may be of help for you as well, it also has some grounding mechanisms for anxious moments that you feel you need to throw up and don't know how to regain control.

Feel free to return to the Eating Disorder forum, we are always here to help get you through it. The Mental Health forum has an anxiety subforum, which may also be of use to you, along with our Self Harm forum as well. Also, feel comfortable sending me a PM, I've gone through a lot of these issues myself and would be glad to help you out.
