Gonna need lots of calories for competition - January 2nd 2012, 01:42 AM

Ok I wouldn't say that I have an eying disorder just that I don't ear as mug as other people- so in march my high school team is going to Colorado for the championships and my coaches know that I have issues with eating and probably even think that I have an eating disorder so they'll either be watching me or have someone assigned to me my biggest fear is that I won't be that hungry exapecially with like pre-performance jitters and stuff so I won't really eat. Does anyone have any sugestions?

So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.

Hi There!

I don't have a eating disorder; but I can be a bit of a health fanatic when I want to be!

One thing I learned that never force your self to eat something, forcing your self to eat causing alot more harm than done, besides the fact that you won't enjoy the taste of your food, often times by forcing us we can develop or worsen our eating disorder. Instead if you would need to gain more calories try to lengthen the amount of snacks you may eat and the health quality. Maybe eat a slice of bread with nutella/peanut butter; or anything small that you can eat at any time, but try to see if you can do this at least 3-4 times a day.

Also during your meals, try to consume as much starch as you can. Starch is very high in calories; things like having Rice, Potatoes, Corn Meal, Tortillas and pasta with your meals can help to gain calories. The good thing about a starch diet is that there are so much delicious combinations you can make. Perhaps maybe a Chicken Parmesan one day and the other day a flat wrap sandwich. The possibilities are endless try to experiment with starchy foods and find something you like and in no time you're gain much calories.

Good Luck!
