like it never happened - January 20th 2012, 04:13 PM

It's all back to where it was before. Can't eat. Won't eat. Dizzy. The difference is that this time I don't wanna change and I don't think anyone can help me anymore. It's like treatment never happened. Like it was wasted on me

Hey Blair,

We all have relapses, it happens. That doesn't mean all your progress has to end, it means you have a chance to rebuild and get even stronger than you were before!

I would recommend you talk to your parents about what is happening, and see if you can be able to up your therapy. I know, it seems ridiculously tiring. But in my experience, the best thing to do after a relapse is get full blown into recovery. The person I know who went to treatment, after her relapse, she did a long term of outpatient care, which she would go to therapy every day to see her counselor and continue using the very strict ED meal plan (assigned by her doctor) to be able to keep on track. Instead of letting this control you again, let this be a way for you to look at this and get stronger.

Take a look at my signature; That is a Japanese proverb about failure. It isn't weak to fall, it's strong to get back up. For every time you fail, each time you get yourself back up, you become a stronger person for it. So, just keep swimming, you can do it!

Take care, message me if you ever need, and feel free to reply. We can help you.

Traci, what you just said to Blair, and your signature... they brought tears to my eyes. I have an eating disorder as well, but it's not anorexia or bulimia, it's EDNOS

Blair,
so sorry to hear you're feeling like the treatment isn't working. I have to agree with other posts that it can feel as though things will never get better, but everyone has setbacks and you can be happy again. You can be but please don't give up. Traci is absolutely right that getting back up is something in itself. You should be proud of yourself for doing your best to follow your set meals. Right now, you may well feel a million miles away from where you want to be but it honestly is not too late. People can always turn things around. This will not control you forever because you don't have to let it. Please keep us posted.
