Question Is this an ED?? - January 22nd 2012, 08:22 PM

i moved away to college, and i decided that instead of getting the unlimited meal plan, i would get a 25 meals a semester. i have not used much of it, but everytime i go eat something i feel fat and so i run to the BR and make myself throw it up. I am almost [EDITED], and i am only 5.5ft tall. I dont know what is wrong with me, but is this an ED?????

Sounds like Bulimia, and it's very serious.

The disorder is one of binging and purging, and it is definitely an eating disorder.

One of my best friends in the world has been struggling with Bulimia for over four years now, and let me tell you, it's been the hardest fight of her life (and everyone near her, too).

The sooner you catch it and get support, the better off you'll be.

This is called bulimia and yes, it is a certain kind of eating disorder, and it is just as serious and dangerous as anorexia. You should talk to your doctor about this and take counseling so that you can get better

When someone apologizes enough times for something they'll never stop doing I think its fearless to stop believing them. I think its fearless to say "Your NOT sorry" and walk away.

While we can't diagnose you on this site (none of us are doctors), I can tell you that the behavior you're engaging in falls under EDNOS (Eating Disorder Otherwise Not Specified). Basically it's where you rarely eat but purge when you do. You don't seem to drastically fall under one category or another. But again, I'm not a doctor, so please don't quote me on this. I would suggest seeing a doctor about this. Eating Disorders are dangerous to your health in a ton of ways. And I think that you're best bet would be to eat healthy and exercise healthy before you actually develop a full blown eating disorder. It's just not worth it to do so. Please take care of yourself'<3
