Question Im big.. But am i too big? :S - April 25th 2012, 05:48 PM

Hey This is my first post on this site so i hope i don't do anything wrong.
I am 14, male and i weigh [EDIT] and I am [EDIT]. I have done all the BMI and Body fat tests and they say i am normal weight and have a normal fat percentage but I'm not at all comfortable with my appearance. I have moobs and a belly.. A kinda big bum and fat legs!
When i ask my friends what they think of my size and they all say i'm not fat. I dunno whether they are just being nice or genuinely believe that.
I just wanna know what your opinions are

At 14 years old you are definitely not done growing yet. You'll grow taller and start to build more lean muscle as you go into your later teens, which will get rid of some of that "baby fat." Be active when you can (maybe there is a sport you enjoy playing?) and don't stuff your face with cookies like I did when I was younger and you'll be just fine.

Thankyou Welcome to TH :P I guess you're right and I did at one point go mental on eating chocolate and cookies and crap and it has really put me off eating stuff like that.

If you think you are big, then workout to get toned. Many people do not realize getting toned and losing weight are different. If you have a healthy BMI and healthy weight, but your body is a bit more flabby than you would like, then work on gaining muscle tone.

So instead of dieting or hardcore running or cardio, work on lifting weights, doing crunches, or push ups. Bicycling and swimming are great sports to work on muscle tone.

The body mass index is garbage, by there standards a guy like Dwight Howard is obese. You are really young your body will take time to fill out. However if you are really uncomfortable with your appearance you could start working out. I don't know your stats as it says "Edit", but being big is good when your trying to build muscle as you can do it and lose weight at the same time.

But remember you are still young, and this might be baby fat, you probably could wake up tomorrow and be 3 inches taller which would change you appearance.
