Is this normal? - April 27th 2012, 03:14 PM

I woke up yesterday at 8am because I had an appointment at the job centre. I come home at 12pm, went back to town at 3pm, had an exam at college at 6pm and come back home at 9pm. I was SO unbelievably tired :| I was so tired my eyes were hurting, my face was hurting and I felt like I was going to be sick. I ended up sleeping 13 hours last night

If I had to do that everyday I would have to sleep 12/13 hours.

That can't be normal :| Loads of people wake up at 8am (even earlier) and can function.

I've been to the doctor's and he can't find anything physically wrong with me :| How? This isn't normal

Most people who wake up at 8am or earlier and stay awake and fine throughout the day are either doing a consistent job, or just doing housework.

Traveling from one place to another is actually more exhausting than if you were to run a marathon. It's hard on your brain and body to go from one scenery to another. So, actually, this sounds quite normal.

Also, you were probably walking pretty fast to each location since you were on a time limit all day. This causes strain on your body.

Everyone is different, can also be down to diet's and healthy eating.... I see people drinking coffee throughout the day which helps them, but thats preference...
Also exercising can improve a person as in being fit keeping onto of long days..

My overall diet isn't considered "healthy" so that could be why I'm so tired. I probably should eat healthier but I live with my parents so that makes it a little more difficult. My parents buy oven chips and what not :/ I just eat what they buy.

Drinking water helps, swap the sugary coke for water you do get use to it... Maybe mention if they could buy fruit through the weekly shop, nibbling on oranges etc is better than chocolate, walking the dogs, or walking/jogging in the evenings around your local place get you motivated too... I've joined the gym recently and i feel like i can stand longer in a job without my legs aching always active and never tired.. Just idea's to try..

Eventually you will get use to it as it becomes a routine, back in high school my schedule was like this get up 5am basketball practiced at 630am, school until 3 pm, work until 9, bed at 11 pm.

It was hell the first week but i eventually got use to it and it became normal. Try drinking a lot of water, eat something every three hours. Plus don't over think it for example if you know you have a long schedule just go with it, don't be like omg i got to do this and this, then this.
