Question Peircing - April 28th 2012, 10:41 PM

Hey guys and girls, sorry if this is in the wrong section. About 6 or 7 weeks ago I got a nose ring put in and the bump just above the ring hasn't gone down a lot during healing. Anyone have any advice on what I should do next?

How was your nose pierced? I had mine done last year and it didn't heal properly because they did it with a stud gun - this is NOT the proper way to do it, and I ended up having to take it out and let it heal.. It had a bump on the inside of the nose making studs hard to go all the way through, and there was a bump on the actual piercing too which meant the studs never sat properly.. Since I've taken it out, the bump's gone down, so it may just be the way you're nose was pierced damaged the tissue too much or it was infected... I presume you've kept it clean etc, maybe the next step is to go to your local piercer if you don't want to take it out, and they may be able to advise you

I'd recommend going to the piercer and speaking to them about it, or you could try going to another piercer and seeing what they say and as they might do it differently to the way you got it done originally and be able to offer advice.

My girlfriend had hers done with a gun and she had a lump appear as well and since taking it out, it's gone down and it was with a gun so it might be the gun that is causing problems but as I said, go a piercer and speak to them, if that's the case you could always take it out, give it a while to heal and have it re-pierced properly or on the other side.

I seem to remember having it done with a needle, anyways I'll see how this turns out over the next few weeks or so
