Steam is supposed to be good for whopping cough. Sit in the bathroom and either fill the bath up with hot water and breathe in the steam or fill up the sink with hot water and breathe in the steam.

Should do. We tell parents at work do the steam thing with their child has a whopping cough. I can remember my mum sitting in a steamy bathroom with my sister when she had whopping cough every night for two weeks.

Yes, steam is a great way to get some temporary relief. Stand in the shower with hot water (not enough to burn yourself) and breathe in the steam, or even just close the door and sit on the toilet while the shower is running to get the steam throughout the room.

A warm air vaporizer can help some as well. Or sitting over a hot running sink with a towel over your head.

Do this for 15 minutes at a time, as many times a day as you can.

Also, most people recover from whopping cough between 1-5 weeks after the coughing starts. I know that's a huge difference, but there is no general time. Some people get over it much quicker than others.

I had Pneumonia coupled with Whooping Cough when i was a lot younger, if you're on the right meds it may take a few weeks to properly settle. Don't worry, i'm sure the treatment will work, and if you have any concerns, go back to your doctor

Feel better soon!

Michy.
