Loss of appetite - May 4th 2012, 04:17 PM

I'm barely hungry anymore. I used to eat like a pig but right now I just don't want food. I've only eaten half a yoghurt and half of my dinner today. I've been like this for a month. This isn't really a "bad" thing as I was gaining weight a few months ago but I'm a little concerned.

How has my appetite changed so rapidly? I'm not depressed right now. When I'm depressed I tend to eat more anyway.

Your appetite can change for various reasons.

Sleep is a common reason. Some people eat more when they haven't been sleeping, or sleeping well. Others eat less due to this reason. So any change in sleeping pattern can change your appetite.

Any cold or even allergies acting up can cause a change in appetite. New medications. Increased or decreased exercise.

I've been sleeping fine. I'm also on the same medication as I've always been.

I'm still not hungry I haven't eaten since 2pm.

Well, if you notice it is becoming worse or you are not eating at least one good meal a day, then I suggest seeing a doctor.

There are some illnesses that can cause lack of appetite, but since you didn't mention other symptoms, I don't think that is what is going on.

Also, you should make yourself eat something small for lunch and breakfast and be sure you eat a good dinner. Or switch it around to what you like. As long as you eat something small for two meals and then something healthy and of a good portion for the third.

Hi Rainbow Dash,
Some tips for you to increase your appetite.
Do exercise regularly and do cardio exercises as they regulate your immune system. Eat healthy breakfast and avoid skipping meals. Break your meals in 5/6 small meals and increase water intake and drink green tea daily. Do add whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruits more in your diet plans.

You are right I need to sort my routine out.

I have been feeling really depressed this week so maybe it was an early sign of that?

I have been having the problem of loss of appetite for years, I don't enjoy food, I have always had problems, but then I got better. However am now back in that situation due to stress. Are you feeling any stress at all?

Cause every moment,
we share together,
is even better,
than the moment before,
If every day was,
as good as today was,
then i can't wait until tomorrow comes,
