Blind - June 17th 2012, 01:02 PM

I always have thoughts about going blind and it really does bore me. I can't help but to think. Okay I know the sun makes you go blind if you stare at it. I used my mirror i hold my big round mirror and hold it right in front of my window to see if i done my makeup alright by having the natural light i was just wondering will it make me go blind? it's a sunny, hot day today.

I don't think that seeing the sun in a mirror is as bad as seeing it directly. However, if you are just holding your mirror up in front of the window, I doubt you'll be reflecting the sun directly into your eyes anyway.

It's not that' easy to cause blindness. I have looked at the sun a bazillion times, and I still have perfect 20/20 vision. You'll be fine. I think you'd have to look straight at the sun for like an hour to have a problem.

Looking at the sun can cause a retina burn, which I think is what leads to temporary blindness, or permanent blindness (if you're unlucky). That's something I'm pretty sure you'd notice right away.

Uh, yeah, sure, maybe when you're 85 you'll end up with horrible sight and possibly be blind, but I wouldn't jump to blame things like that one time you caught to much sun in your eyes since crap loads of old people have terrible sight...
