Any ideas? - June 20th 2012, 07:13 AM

Alright so i have been to loads of doctors since October because of back pain but now it has gotten I to something totally different. I've had x-rays of my back, neck, hips and skull more then once. I have gotten MRI's of my brain, neck, mid back and hips/lower back. I took the EEG or EMG (don't know which one). Everything came back normal. They took blood work in December and all they found was my vitamin D was extremely low so now I'm on supplements for that (these supplements don't cause symptoms or anything).
Here's a list of my symptoms:
Hands shake
Dizziness
Fatigue
Loss of appetite
Numbness and tingling in arms, legs, back, hands, feet, face and back of my head
Loss of feeling in hands
Migraines and headaches
Pain in the back of my head
Constant pain in my back, shoulders and neck
Hard to breathe
Hot and cold randomly
Fast heartbeat
Hallucinations
Pins and needle feeling (all the same places as numbness and tingling)

Background information: I'm 14, athletic, not underweight or overweight, haven't changed my diet. Also my pain in the back is so bad I can't bend down to tie my shoes or pick stuff up, it's hard to sleep and it effects my breathing.

*i know y'all aren't doctors and I'm still going to see other doctors, I just want to know what y'all think. Also, if u need more info or have a Q just comment or PM me. Thanks!! And anything helps!!

*also wanted to add that I posted something similair, minus the details, a couple weeks ago, but I have new symptoms now and the doctors said my tests came back normal so that's why I'm asking again.

Ash,

The only time I have ever heard all of these symptoms, was with my mom who has Fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, several people, along with some doctors and scientists, do not believe it is a real disease.

Fibro is usually diagnosed after 3 months of the symptoms, and ruling out all other possible causes.

However, it could definitely be something else, but I am truly stumped as well. I do hope you get it figured out and start to feel better ASAP, though!

...I just googled that and it listed almost everything I had..does your mom take medication for it? Or something to help the pain?

Well I told my mom but she's already researched it and the doctor said that I couldn't have it (I still think I could but whatever) thanks for the help though, despite what they tell me I still think its a possibility.

Ash,

Did they say why they don't think so?

And she does take meds for it, but she had to go through about 20 different combinations to find the right ones for her. However, she is still in pain often.

1 reason is because the age group is 20-50
Another is because while I have some of the symptoms, the most seen symptoms I don't have. They also said that I would have to have pain in at least 11 places, mine is only in my back, neck and shoulders and sometimes knees. My mom thinks I have an autoimmune disease, which would me that they might never find out what I have, also meaning I will be in pain for the rest of my life.

Hopefully they find out what it is. There are ways to determine if you have an autoimmune disease, and ways to find out which one. Don't give up!

Maybe you should ask them to do MORE blood work, but just focusing on, say, a few of the symptoms at a time.
And I don't want to be the one with morbid ideas, but have they checked you out for all different kinds of cancer? It definitely sounds as if your symptoms are located through something wrong with your spinal cord or brain. Have they looked at your tail bone? Maybe the spinal cord is being pinched there? Sorry, unfortunately I have a VERY short list of ideas. Maybe you have some weird kind of epilepsy? Ok that is out there I know.
I'm super sorry you have to be going through this and if I think of anything that might actually be a good possibility, I'll let yu know

Thanks, and I think they are going to do some more blood work..my mom thinks I don't need to get it redone but I'm trying to convince her..and I've thought about cancer and it would make sense.

I would get them to take another MRI of your WHOLE brain.

about 3 months ago I was put on meds for migraines (once every 1 or 2 weeks for 2 days at a time.) and I had to go to a neurologist. They asked me if I had those symptoms (literally every single one you just listed) and said that if I did I'd need an MRI or cat scan. Go to a highly recommended pediatrics neurologist would be my suggestion.

I wanna fly. So I do gymnastics instead.

I'll just keep holding on to what i believe and oh I believe in you. Give me the strength for the fight and the heart to believe cause I've got to believe in you. I feel so alive.
