How do I get my mom to take this seriously? :'( - June 28th 2012, 05:50 PM

I've had this sensation in my feet for a while now, a constant burning sensation and it feels like my feet are being stabbed by a million knives and I'm up half the night crying in pain. My dad was truly concerned because that was one of the first symptoms he showed when he was diagnosed with diabetes. But instead of taking me to a doctor my mom (who is also diabetic) insisted on taking my blood sugar with her own meter and after seeing my numbers, self diagnosed me as "not diabetes"

greatttttt but I still don't know what the hell is wrong with my feet! help me

Could you book yourself an appointment with a doctor? Sounds like you could have diabetes if its similar to your dad and both your parents have it. Though i'm not a doctor of course

she finally, after i took her work papers hostage and refused to get off her ass until she called, set me an appointment up with the podiatrist tomorrow and said she'll ask the regular doctor when she goes on tuesday if she wants bloodwork done on me. i just wish she would take me seriously. i had seizures for 4 years before she bothered to take me to a doctor to have me diagnosed. and even if i could book myself an appointment she wouldn't take me (i have no car) or pay for it (i have no job)
