Seriously? Another Thing? - August 25th 2012, 09:21 PM

So I already have Hypermobility Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, both of which cause me pain and make me feel really tired and energyless all the time. I had just managed to deal with them better after over 4 years of intense physio. This doesn't mean anything is perfect, but my joints are a lot stronger and I don't have pains that keep me awake at night and such.

I have now discovered that I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome after feeling rather unwell for about 6 months. My stomach always hurts and I feel sick a lot. Despite having advice from my doctor I still don't really have a clue what to do about it as it affects everyone differently and what actually helps is also different for everyone. It's a trial an error thing to find out what foods make it worse and what supliments and medications improve things. Even then I am likely to have times when it's really bad, it tends to be something that occurs in episodes.

This is all very well and I might be able to deal with it okay if it wasn't for work. I think my job is mostly what's caused it to get so bad as one thing that can really affect it is not eating at normal times and going long times without eating. I work evenings 5pm-10pm and 3pm-8pm. I'm finding I come home feeling really ill because I haven't been able to have dinner yet. Yes, I have a break, but only for 15 minutes, which doesn't leave time for eating much. I'm currently finding Ihave to eat every couple of hours, and also have two extra small meals during the morning and during the afternoon to last out the day without feeling really sick and being in a lot of pain. But I can't do that at work, and I just don't know what to do about it. I'm really worried about going work next week, and stress is a big cause in IBS.

I just really don't know what to do anymore, I was now just managing with Hypermobility and Fibromyalgia and now there's this as well. =/ I'm so tired of always feeling unwell and in pain. I've just had enough. I want to be okay, just for once, is that really so much to ask for?

Wow, someone else wirh Hypermobility Syndrome! I never find many people with the same illness as me. I'm also struggling with stomach pain as well, so I can certainly relate to how you're feeling! I ask myself those same questions, when am I ever actually going to be okay? It's always one thing after the other!
