Sleep Paralysis? - August 26th 2012, 04:30 AM

In the past 2 weeks I've been very, very stressed out and it seems I've suffered two bouts of what I think is sleep paralysis. The problem is that what happened to me didn't exactly fit the symptoms of sleep paralysis. The first time it happened I was unable to move or scream and was very scared, but when I first woke up I heard music that I was aware was in my head. After listening to the music for a few seconds, a deafening sound arose; so loud I thought it was a tornado or earthquake. I wanted to get up, but I couldn't. I didn't even open my eyes, so I'm not sure if I was able to even do that or not. Then my ears popped and everything was silent, it just stopped. I was able to get up out of bed afterwards. The second time, about 8 days later, I'm not really sure, I woke up hearing the same sound only I could tell it was in my head. It sounded a lot like the same sort of shaky/rumbling sound you hear when you yawn, except amplified very loud. I felt as though I was being lifted up off the bed into an upright sitting position and it was like I was able to fight it this time. After the sound died down, it came back, but I managed to stop it from getting worse (not sure how) and I was able to get up out of bed after that. I've looked online and haven't found an account of sleep paralysis like this yet. So, sleep paralysis or something else?
