Kind of awkward question but...... - January 28th 2013, 11:56 PM

**Not sure if this belongs here**

So, I was watching a tv show earlier tonight, and all of a sudden my girl part area (If you know what I mean) started hurting. So I went to the bathroom and saw nothing. It's been kinda hurting ever since. Like, near the top-ish part. It kinda feels like something is poking it. Or stinging almost. I took a shower and it helped kinda. I used the bathroom again and it kinda burned this time. I think that may have been because I got soap near/in it. But it still hurts and it's kinda scaring me now. I'm definitely not pregnant and have never had sex. Could I have an infection of some sort? I don't really want to tell my mom, it's kinda embarrassing. Is it just sore or something? I remember I sorta felt this once or twice before and it was okay. But IDK and I'm kinda scared.

Okay it COULD be a urinary tract infection, but I am saying that because of the stinging and also how it hurt to go sometimes. Do you go to the bathroom a lot? Thats usually another symptom of those. The only thing is though I feel like with that, you’d be in a lot of pain and would generally just not feel good. I think though that you should tell your mom in case she has some idea as to what it can be. She won’t be bothered by it. Sometimes its necessary to ask uncomfortable questions.

Ty! I don't really go that often. I think it's pretty normal. The pain really isn't that much either, its just uncomfortable kinda. I do have a low pain tolerance though. The first time I used the BR before my shower it was perfectly fine though. I was okay throughout the day too. It just started hurting out of the blue.

It might seem awkward, but to be on the safe side, I'd talk to your mom about it. Sometimes I text my mom when I need to talk to her about embarrassing things, so maybe you could try that.

Should I maybe wait to tell her? I mean, it only started hurting today. I can't really jump to conclusions. It could just he sore or something and it can heal tomorrow?

Don't sue me if I turn out to be wrong. But I think it would probably be okay to wait for a day or two to see if it goes away on its own. If it doesn't, then I would tell her.

Ok ty! I won't sue you, lol. It's starting to feel a little better, but still uncomfortable.

Hi,

I agree it could be a Urinary Tract Infection; I had one of those a few years ago and this is kinda how it started if I am remembering correctly.
What you can do is wait a couple of days to tell your mom if it does not go away on its own.
Also, try drinking things that are not acidic such as cranberry juice, water (lots of water), eating berries and similar fruits and just staying away from a lot of things with acidic content because the acid levels (PH levels) in your body may be off if you do not drink a lot of liquids or drink mostly caffinated or sugary drinks and eat mostly spicy foods.
If this does not go away in a couple of days, do not keep putting off telling your mom even though it is embarrassing because you could end up in a whole lot worse pain and even end up in the hospital.
Hope this helps and that things start to improve for you.

"i don't care your intentions. I just want you to know my self-hatred never took me where I wanted to go. At the end of the day...I can pick at the pain but I can't cut it away."

If it comes back, try including cranberry juice. It'll make your urine very acidic and help fight infection. Glad it turned out to be alright! cheers!
