Unhappy Braces and Oral Surgery.......... - April 17th 2013, 10:40 PM

I need to get braces... But before they can put the braces on, I need to get oral surgery. Apparently I have teeth stuck in my palette that are growing sideways so I need surgery to attach them to the braces to pull them in the right way. This is like, legit surgery that they need to put me on amnesia for... I'm kinda scared... Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any advice?

Yes, I've been to the dentist for the most part of my life. Though, It will be painless, trust me, The braces look good, In my honest opinion i think braces are hot, and my friends think so too. It will be over and done with ASAP. Trust me.

I was given morphine for the pain in my mouth ( teeth )

You'll be alright, BELIEVE ME .

MY advice. Stop. Worring You'll be okay, No pain, but gain.

This is legit surgery first, though. They have to pull two teeth, cut open my palette, attach a chain to each of the teeth, and then attach the chains to the braces, then they have to tighten the braces each month to physically pull the teeth into place. I'm kinda scared about the surgery and the cutting open my palette part, but I'm more scared about the amnesia.... I am scared to death of being helpless around people I don't know. I don't trust people, and I don't want to be unconscious around people I don't know, especially men, and my orthodontist is a man... This is the part I'm most scared of...

Thank you. I mean, I'm still nervous, but I think you can be trusted. Thank you so much.
