Swollen Lymph Nodes - September 19th 2013, 01:12 AM

So, I had a cold for a couple of weeks and every symptom has been gone since Sunday except for my lymph nodes being swollen. Should I go see a doctor about this or will the swelling reduce in a couple of days now that the rest of my cold is gone?

I'm always getting swollen lymph nodes! I'd say book a doctors appointment for a couple of days time and if you feel fine, cancel it. It could be that you've also got tonsillitis, glandular fever, you're coming down with something else, or it's fighting off the last of your cold - which I think is the most likely!

Do you have any other symptoms or do you feel fine now (apart from the swollen lymph nodes)?

22/12/2014 was the last date I self-harmed. The longest I have gone so far is 1 year, 2 months and 5 days. This time, I hope I can give up! New record: 1 year 6 months! Yay!!

You had a cold for a couple of weeks? Sure you didn't have the kissing disease (aka mono)?

I'd go in personally and get checked. I wouldn't be too concerned, but it's something you may want to know if you had.

The nurse asked me if I have ever had mono and I never had so I told her that but she said nothing farther about it. She also said she would ask the doctor if he would want me to come back in because of my lymph nodes being swollen and I am asuming that since I did not get told to come back that he did not think I needed to.
I plan to go in Monday if they are still like this.

Was it a nurse or a medical assistant?

If it was mono, there's not much they can do about it. It's more of a precaution to make sure you're not one of the people with rarer and more serious issues.
