Wisdom tooth pain - May 6th 2009, 03:50 PM

My top left wisdom tooth is coming out and I'm in complete agony.

Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do for the pain?
Or something to calm it down? Anything...?

If I touch it I can just feel the tip of the tooth ripping through and it absolutely kills... (And I'm supposedly good with pain...)

My exams are coming up and the pain is making it really hard to study.
I do have an orthodontist appointment tomorrow so I'll definitely be mentioning it them. Also I have a hospital evaluation on Friday and I'll see what they think.

But an x-ray is out of the question because I still have braces for a short while.
Also, my first exam is on tuesday and they go on till the beginning of June so I'm guessing taking it out isn't quite an option yet.

My mum should be making a dentist appointment soon.
But I just really need ways to handle the pain, I've taken soo many different pain killers and they don't seem to be doing much.

Any advice greatly appriciated

Cocodamol (sp?) is a really good pain killer. I've only used it once but it got rid of my migraine quicker than ibuprofen and paracetamol do.

There are herbal remedies you can try but I have no idea whether they work or how good they are.

I had problems with my wisdom teeth.

Use a sensitive toothpaste.

Cocodamol is a great pain reliever

& Maybe get something like Diazepam, so as you can relax a bit.

Hope this helps.

I also recommend Clove oil. It tastes awful but it takes away the pain and provides a little a bit of a numbing feeling. The pain of wisdom teeth is them coming in, not the actual tooth, so the clove oil will actually numb your gums.
