Very loud ringing in my ears? - May 17th 2009, 08:17 AM

Last night I went out and was in a club with EXTREMLY loud music, like body vibratingly loud. That was all fine and dandy a few hours ago but now my ears are driving me round the bend. They just won't stop ringing and everytime I chew theres a sort of beeping noise... it's soooo annoying and not something you really want to join the sunday morning hangover... Someone please tell me what I can do about it! Thankieees x

Remember those walls I built?
Well baby they're tumbling down...
and they didn't even put up a fight,
they didn't even make a sound...

You have damaged an ear drum i think. If it doesnt improve within some days you should see a doctor.

You may have some damage to your inner ear, so like Fraser said, if it persists or even starts to hurt, definitely consider seeing a doctor.

Even if it goes away, you may want to see a doctor regardless just to make sure everything is OK.

You may want to see a doctor for it. He or she will be able to tell you if it's permanent or temporary damage.

My dad was a drummer in rock bands for YEARS... he never wore ear plugs or anything on stage (he rehearsed and performed pretty frequently), and still has a ringing in his ears. I think the "scientific" term is tinnitus.

If it's only for a few days it's temporary threshold shift, which will clear up on it's own and is fine, i'm constantly doing it to myself as is my dad and my dad lectures in noise pollution and protection, it's perfectly fine

if it doesn't go away i would see a doctor, tho for one night at a club I highly doubt it's anything other than temporary threshold shift

pm me if needed
