Question weight problems - December 30th 2016, 01:46 AM

Ok so I have never ever ever been a skinny person, I have always been normal but felt fat next to my friends. I started going to the gym about a week or two ago and I'm feeling better about my fitness level etc. But I did something really dumb. I weighed myself. Now i have never been one to go anorexic or belemic, i love my food too much and i hate throwing up. But instead of being [Edited] (which is how heavy i thought i was) i ended up being [Edited]. Now for my height (5'7) its pretty good since im still growing. But for my age... i hate it. I feel fat and whats worse is i know i cant fix it. So i know i cant diet (too many allergies anf again i love my food), i cant over excersise (i have a shoulder injury) so what can i do that wont harm my body but will make me feel better about my weight. I eat healthy i excersise to my needs i listen to my body, but i just wanna feel/look skinny. And it doesnt help that my sis is two years older than me, shes 5'5 and shes [Edited] and looks thin as a twig.

Re: weight problems - December 31st 2016, 03:25 PM

Hey there,

Firstly, everyone's bodies are different. We're all different shapes and sizes, and people could be the same weight but still look different.

If you are eating healthily, and exercising to your needs there's not an awful lot you can do aside from just keep up the healthy habits!

If you are concerned about your weight, you can consult with your doctor or a dietician, but otherwise, it's good to remember that we're all different. There's no point comparing yourself to other people because of this. Also, you're still growing and your body is still changing and so is everyone else's, so things may be different in the future.

Perhaps rather than thinking of how you can try to change your body, you can think of how you can accept your body instead? Perhaps think about certain styles of clothes that look good on your body. Or think about certain aspects of your body that you do like and when you feel that you aren't 'skinny' you can remember those parts of your body that you do like.

Hope this helps a little
