Pinched/trapped nerve - February 14th 2020, 10:10 PM

Has anyone any tips for a pinched/trapped nerve?

I woke up this morning with severe pain in my shoulder joint and scapula area. Nothing I did would make the pain go away. It was so bad I literally cried. My mum thought I dislocated it, but I wanted a professional opinion so managed to get an emergency doctor's appointment.

She gave me zapain, naproxen, and diazepam because it's so bad.

I've never had anything like this before so I don't know how else to deal with it. I've tried resting as much as I can but is that all I can do or what?

The best thing I've found to help with pinched nerves, is heat. Either taking a hot shower or bath. Or getting like a heating pad and putting it over the area. Because I've found in my experience that heat helps just relax the muscles and helps things resolve itself.

I see this was posted a few days ago, so I hope it is feeling better by now!

Sorry to hear you are in such pain! How are you feeling now?

I agree with Sarah that heat can help ease the pain slightly. If there's not been any, or much, improvement, it's definitely worth going back to the doctors for a second opinion and asking if there is anything else you can do to ease the pain.
