I wet myself.

Okay so this is a little embarrassing, basically today I didn't quite make it to the toilet in time, I had just got home and was rushing to the toilet when I wet myself, thankfully there was no one around and it was just me, but it's not the first time its happened, it happened over a year ago too, and when I sneeze I always ''dribble'' or have a small leakage. I constantly wear a pantyliner or two just to be on the safe side but tonight the pantyliners were not enough, I know theres special pads for a sensitive bladder / incontinence but I am in my 30's and feel like this is an old lady issue. I don't know what to do.

Do you think it’s possible that your pelvic floor muscles are weak? It’s something worth looking into with your doctor because that can cause bladder leakage. They have exercises you can either do by yourself or you can go to a pelvic floor physical therapist and work with them to strengthen the area.

Hi,
thanks for reaching out!
Since you're only in your 30's, leakages shouldn't happen and it would be a good idea to visit a doctor or a physical therapist. A doctor might suggest some additional tests or prescribe medication, whilst a physical therapist is more likely to focus on your muscles and show you some exercises to strengthen them at home. There are therapists that specialise in urogynecology and they have a lot of experience taking care of patients with similar issues! You can also visit both for a wider perspective. In the meantime, you could use pads designed for this issue so that you don't have to worry about a potential leakage when you're out.
Good luck and take care!

Hello,

I am so sorry that you are having a hard time with this and I hope that you will be okay soon. When we are going through something and we are not sure how to make ourselves feel better, it is always a good idea to try talking with someone about what we are going through so that we get what we need and feel better soon. Would you be able to try talking with your doctor about this and letting them know how long you have been having this for? I know that it can be hard talking to the doctor about what we are going through. The doctors love helping us to feel better. If you are not able to talk to them face to face then would you be able to try writing this all down on paper and giving it to them to read and then they will be able to help you out with this. You can even bring a friend or family member with you to give you that little extra support if you want to. Also you can try getting the special pads for a sensitive bladder if you want to try getting them. I looked up where to get them and you can get them from your grocery store and even Amazon if you didn't want to buy them with other people around. You can Google exercises for this and it can help you as well. And what Dez and Sue are saying is also very good too. I hope that you will be okay soon. Sending you:hug: to help you.

The first thing that came to mind was as Dez mentioned - perhaps your pelvic floor is weak?

That said, sometimes leakages such as that can be the sign of a larger issue. It may be a good idea to get yourself checked out just in case there's a more severe issue at play.
