Bladder/Urinary Tract Infection - January 17th 2009, 02:09 PM

I seem to always have one. For the last year and a half, I've ALWAYS had urinary symptoms. It just doesn't seem to go away. And if it does, it comes back a short while later. I've been to the doctor, I've taken medication for it, nothing helps.

Maybe it's not UTI? Those things go away. I had one once and I just drank cranberry juice for a few weeks and it was gone.

Try a different doc?

drink LOTS of water.. i had UTI symptoms quite badly a while ago and just drank a few litres of water and it seemed to sort it out. other than that all i can suggest is going to a different doctor or talking to a pharmacist, always worth getting another opinion.

my god mother gets them loads and tents to have to make sure she drinks over the average amount of water and make sure she doesn't sit down for too long with out moving

also i agree with above you might want to see a doctor, when i was about 11/12ish i had really bad UTI symptoms and it was acutally an allergy to coloured drinks bizzarely maybe you need a few more tests?

I am like you, I get them alot. My friend recommended me to take Cranberry vitamin pills. Cranberry juice is supposed to help clean out the Urinary tract. I personally hate the taste of the juice so I take the pills. You can get them at any vitamin store. Some bottles even say they are recommended by doctors.

If you're having alot of UTIs or UTI-like symptoms and normal treatments are working, perhaps they should test you for STD/STIs? Alot of typical symptoms for urinary tract issues also appear for those with sexually transmitted diseases.

Either way I think you should see a urologist. They may be able to help you more, if STD examinations come back okay.

I've been tested. I've been to the gynecologist about a billioin times because of my ovarian cyst. They've checked all of that stuff out.
