Safe to work out five days a week? - January 18th 2009, 08:21 PM

Hi folks,

So I went to a trainer a few days ago and got a three-day-a-week workout plan put together. Working out MWF, with Tuesday and Thursday off... I'd like to go swimming T and Th. What's funny is I asked him but didn't really get a straight answer... does anyone know if working out five days a week is safe/effective? Or should I take T and Th as rest days?

It usually would depend on your age, and other factors of the like, so it's best for you to contact your doctor about this. It's always good to have variety in your routine so having your set exercise scheduale as well as a day or two of swimming is a good idea, but i would definatly contact your doctor.

i don't see anything wrong with working out five days a week. my brother works out seven days a week and is probably the healthiest person i know. as long as your not over doing your muscles on heavy weight on a regular basis or working out until your sick for example then i think you're fine.
